After the hostage-taking, the city turns into a powder keg. Riots, reprisals, and fear sweep across the Netherlands. While the streets explode and Joëlle follows clues to Brussels, Mardik realizes that the terrorists now have his family directly in their sights. In Brussels, Frederique discovers that the danger is greater than any one country can handle and that the threat does not stop at the Netherlands, but has penetrated deep into European institutions.
