Overzicht
On their way to the Gentner distillery, hikers find the body of Sebastian Wenger. The history student from Munich had returned to his hometown of Berchtesgaden after many years to write the anniversary publication for the traditional distillery. Patriarch Franz Gentner and his son Hubert want nothing to do with any conflict—and neither does distiller Loisl Bartels. Beissl soon discovers that the dead man had an affair with Kati, the distiller's daughter, and that she is expecting his child. This brings both Loisl and Kati's fiancé Clemens Brandner into the investigators' sights. But Jerry uncovers another secret that is closely intertwined with the young man's family history.
Over de serie
De serie draait om hoofdinspecteur Benedikt Beissl (Andreas Giebel), die in Berchtesgaden woont met zijn vrouw Elisabeth en drie dochters Maria, Johanna en Eva. Beissl handhaaft al decennia lang de wet en orde in Berchtesgaden. Tot zijn ongenoegen krijgt hij op een dag een nieuwe collega. Tot nu toe hield de solistische inspecteur ervan om zijn eigen gang te gaan. Zijn nieuwe collega Jerry Paulsen (Peter Marton) is de zoon van een zwarte GI en de dochter van een herbergier uit Bad Aibling. Hij is behoorlijk gedurfd, kan goed in teamverband werken en is voor de liefde vanuit Hamburg naar Beieren verhuisd. Maar de uitverkorene van Jerry is nota bene Beissls dochter Johanna. De twee politiecommissarissen moeten in elke aflevering een moord in de omgeving oplossen. De lokaal gewortelde Beissl kent de slachtoffers en hun omgeving, evenals mogelijke daders, vaak goed.
