Overview

Johanna and Jerry spend a romantic night in a tent celebrating the summer solstice in the mountains. The morning after the solstice, student Bennie Lindner is found dead below a rocky plateau. When the detectives apprehend a refugee at the green border with Austria who is in possession of Bennie's backpack, the case seems to be solved. But then Beissl's daughter Eva discovers videos online of daring daredevil stunts that Bennie and his two climbing friends Sebi and Lena used to compete with each other. Did one of these daredevil stunts prove fatal for Bennie? And what role do the victim's mother, Wally Lindner, and Lena's father, the enigmatic mountaineer Hans Staudinger, play? Both seem to be hiding something from the detectives.

About the show

The series revolves around Chief Inspector Benedikt Beissl (Andreas Giebel), who lives in Berchtesgaden with his wife Elisabeth and their three daughters, Maria, Johanna, and Eva. Beissl has been upholding law and order in Berchtesgaden for decades. Much to his annoyance, he is one day assigned a new colleague. Until now, the solitary inspector has preferred to work alone. His new partner, Jerry Paulsen (Peter Marton), is the son of a Black GI and a landlady from Bad Aibling. He is quite daring, a team player, and moved from Hamburg to Bavaria for love. However, Jerry's love interest happens to be Beissl's daughter, Johanna. In each episode, the two police commissioners must solve a murder in the area. The locally rooted Beissl often knows the victims, their environment, and potential perpetrators.
